Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As some of you may know, Jim Moran, Acting Executive Deputy Commissioner, will be ending his state service in May. Throughout his career, Jim has been a model public servant and a tremendous asset to the agency. For those who know him well, you know how dedicated he has been to the people we support. He has always been forthright, and worked with integrity and compassion. For me personally, Jim has been an incredible resource, supportive, and forward-thinking in time of important transition for the agency. He will be missed.
In order to make the transition of Jim’s exit from state service as smooth as possible, I have asked one of the agency’s most talented and knowledgeable staff, Kerry Delaney – our chief counsel, to serve in the position of Acting Executive Deputy Commissioner. Kerry is well versed in the wide range of issues that confront OPWDD, she is dedicated to those we support, and she shares a strong interest in improving the agency for the future.
Over the next few months I hope that you will join me in supporting Kerry as she makes the transition, and in thanking Jim for all the incredible work he has done over the years to help people with developmental disabilities live richer lives.
Sincerely,
Commissioner Burke
