Speaker- Allison McCarthy
Transition phase
- Bumpy beginning however it’s all about the specifics. Share with the regional office to let them know what is not working and OPWDD can look at that case and look at things more systemically. They are only 7 agencies and therefore it is easier to communicate. 7 agencies with one agenda. OPWDD is committed to making sure the foundation is strong before going to the next phase
- Phase 2-Provider led MMC
- Phase 3 SIP-PL
- 25,000.00 to date have opted to be in a managed care program
- January 1, 2020 CFCO includes managed care(page 3 of handout)
- In the SIPL how much can the OPWDD services be part of PMPM? Currently they will not change bit in time is will be looked at as a per need basis
- One conflict that comes up is if you don’t have people enrolled in the SIPP-PL in order to see if the program works but if step 1 is not ready what will happen? July 2020 is the
Managed care Roadmap: Short term
- Have to keep in mind what will that path look like in the future?
- How do we prepare families for what they are going to see? The Care Manager should be the one to give over the information, however that does not always happen. The leadership of the CCO’ s should be getting out there and speaking about what the future OPWDD has a responsibility at the regional level to let families know what those choice will be today.
- Hopefully this fall commissioner Kasner will be going out to meet with families.
- Q-What kind of Data measures quality?
- A-Tough nut to crack-currently we do not have the data. First step is basic managed care without DD services in there. Currently we are at the beginning and we don’t have the How do we build to get ideas and solutions?
- Q-What is a CFCO?
- A-State plan option that is available to Medicaid individuals under regular Medicaid rules and live in your own home or a family member’s home. A community based program. If you are eligible for this program you can go straight in and not through the waiver
