Don’t forget to spread the word and join us for New York State’s celebration of the 25th anniversary of the ADA. OPWDD, SANYS and several partner state agencies are planning a great event at the State Capitol at 12 noon on Friday, July 24.
The celebration features live music by the band Flame whose members are all individuals with disabilities and words of inspiration from people directly impacted by the historic legislation. It’s a great opportunity for anyone to attend and join in commemorating this important occasion.
Please feel free to share this information with anyone you think would be interested, encourage attendance, plan a trip that day, and take part in supporting the civil rights of all Americans, including people with disabilities.
If you plan on attending, there is limited seating so make sure you bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the park. Space will be provided on State St. for passenger drop-offs and accessible vans are encouraged to use the surface lots located near the museum (Cathedral/Madison/Grand/Elk).
Hope to see you there.
