The Mental Hygiene Budget Conference Sub-Committee (comprised of Senate and Assembly representatives) met this afternoon and forwarded the proposed 6% cut to the leaders (Silver, Skelos, Klein) with the strong recommendation of
FULL RESTORATION.
Members of the Sub-Committee only spoke about the impact of the 6% cut and
every member who spoke was passionate about the need for full restoration.
Assemblymember Harvey Weisenberg, who as a parent, was particularly vehement for full restoration and was near tears.
Clearly, ALL of YOUR CALLS have had a significant impact on the Senate and the Assembly!!
We are getting closer but we need you to make a few more calls now that it has been kicked up to the Leaders.
Calls to the Governor’s office and your legislators on the need for full restoration are more important than ever.

2. CALL/CONTACT LEGISLATORS:
- Call your local legislators and urge them to contact their leadership on the need for full restoration. Tell them that their constituents are depending on them to ensure that the final budget contains full restoration.
