SPEAKER: Alan Rosen – “The Evolving World of Home Care

As noted above, the Manhattan DD Council MSC Committee Meeting met on February 1, 2013. Alan Rosen, Former Administrator of YAI’s Certified Home Health Agency and currently a Home Care Consultant, spoke to the group about the changes in home care, including: Medicaid Managed Long Term Care Plans (MLTC); exemptions for the individuals served through OPWDD; CASA and the M11q process for exempted individuals; and changes at Certified Home Health Agency Services (CHHAs).
The meeting was attended by 18 MSC’s and, following the meeting, a number of MSC’s remained to join the MSC Forum Planning Committee. The Forum is scheduled to take place on May 23rd at PACE University.
The next meeting for the MSC Committee with be on March 1, 2013 at UCP/NYC – 80 Maiden Lane, NYC – 2nd Floor training room. The topic is to be determined. MSC’s receive training hours for these sessions.
