A reduction in the NYS developmental center rate has reduced federal funds by $1.1 billion. Negotiations are on-going to accomplish the reduction without creating a huge hole in the Governor’s recently released budget proposal but unless an agreement is arrived at in less than two weeks, additional cuts to services will result. Please have your staff and families send letters to Congress urging them to speak up for New York’s most vulnerable by urging CMS to come to a reasonable agreement.
Go to www.iacny.org and click on “take action now” on the upper part of the screen. When you get to the advocacy page, click again on the words “take action now” and follow the instructions for sending a letter to our congressional delegation. There’s no time to lose!!!
