The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) has selected the interRAI Integrated Assessment Suite as the statewide assessment mechanism to support the People First Waiver systems reform. This needs assessment process will provide a consistent way of identifying each individual’s strengths, interests and needs in order to develop an effective person-centered life plan and a foundation for an equitable service system based on these support needs. The interRAI Intellectual Disabilities (ID) tool included in the suite was developed specifically to assess the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and development disabilities and will serve as the core of this needs assessment process.
