MOMA Presentation

Kirsten Schroeder reviewed the Access offerings at the MOMA. They offer programs throughout the city. All their programs are free. They recommend that you take a 3-step approach.
Introduce your program by MOMA staff coming to your program
Come to the MOMA
Come back to your location to discuss what opportunities are available.
Kristen offered all attendees a MOMA Family Pass to visit the museum for free. We watched a series of videos including the Sunday Family Program – Create Ability, held once a month. Every other month is a new theme.
There is also a group option to have an educator come to your site and bring the program to you. Recently they have offered viewing films for their guests. At the conclusion of the film, individuals and families created their own film.

NY City subway offers a social skills after school program. Brooklyn participants come to the program site to learn about subways, but more importantly, they are learning to develop their social skills. The program runs for 10 weeks. It is an ASD program. There is an observation session to determine who is best suited for the program and a specialized RBI model used for the program.
There is a sliding scale fee.
Special Day for Special Families was offered in January. This session was held for the first time in January with a very large turnout.
